Christian Science nursing is a healing ministry based on the Bible and the teachings of Christian Science as found in the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
It is a Manual-based activity — a vocation of service, care and compassionate support for those relying on Christian Science for their healing.
Lime Tree House offers Christian Science Nurses Education with Le Verger's education program, accredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Christian Science Nursing Organisations/Facilities, Inc. The programme is comprehensive, covering all four levels of Christian Science nurses education.
Manual of The Mother Church — Section 31
"A member of The Mother Church who represents himself or herself as a Christian Science nurse shall be one who has a demonstrable knowledge of Christian Science practice, who thoroughly understands the practical wisdom necessary in a sick room, and who can take proper care of the sick. Introduction to Christian Science nursing as a Manual-based ministry grounded in the Bible and the theology of Christian Science.
Deepening practical knowledge and understanding of the sick room — care, compassion and proper support for those relying on Christian Science.
Mentored side-by-side practice with Lime Tree House's Journal-listed Christian Science nurse mentors and visiting nursing organisations.
Completion of the full Le Verger curriculum — qualifying the student for listing in The Christian Science Journal.
Classes are scheduled on a one-to-one basis, designed entirely around the needs and pace of the individual student.
Lime Tree House provides both employment and accommodation for students during their training programme.
Students are mentored directly by Lime Tree House's team of Journal-listed Christian Science nurses throughout the programme.
The Le Verger programme is accredited by CACSNOF Inc., ensuring the highest standard of Christian Science nursing education.
The programme begins with the Spiritual Dimension of Care seminar — an interactive full-day presentation that explains Christian Science nursing as a Manual-based activity grounded in the Bible and the theology of Christian Science.
The seminar is a helpful first step for those thinking about entering the ministry of Christian Science nursing. Led by one of Le Verger's experienced Journal-listed instructors, it covers the biblical basis and Manual provision for Christian Science nursing, its history, and The Christian Science Nurse Scope of Services.
The seminar is suitable for large or small groups, including branch churches, and can be delivered in five languages, in person or via Zoom.
